Among the Printer family, a Laser Printer is a common type of computer printer that rapidly produces high quality text and graphics on a paper. Laser Printers uses a xerographic printing process but it is different from analog photocopiers. In this, image is produced by scanning directly through a laser beam across the printer's photoreceptor. If you think of choosing a printer there are two basic issues that you should keep in mind. Firstly decide whether you need color or mono printers. While monochrome printers only use one laser scanner assembly but color printers often have two or more scanner assemblies. Secondly decide whether you prefer an Inkjet or a Laser Printer.

The Laser and Inkjet debate is a bit more complex. They both perform the same fundamental task but they do it in different ways. An Inkjet Printer applies liquid ink and a Laser uses a powder which is burnt onto the paper.

The major benefit of the Color Laser Printer is its speed with which it can produce pages. Due to its powder filled toner cartridges, a Laser Printer can produce documents with far greater efficiency than an inkjet. This is why they are often used in offices.

Capacity is certainly one of the major benefits of a Laser Printer. Your standard Desktop Inkjet can only usually hold a few dozen sheets at one time. A Color Laser Printer can approximately handle anywhere between 150 and 2,500 sheets.  This certainly reduces the time that is wasted for refilling your paper levels.

If you think about the price then the initial purchase price of a Laser Printer may be higher than an inkjet. But later you need not invest loads of money as it has comparatively low cost for its toner cartridges and the number of prints each one can handle. Color printers generally have a higher "cents-per-page" production cost than any other printers. A fastest color Laser Printers can print over 100 pages per minute that is 6000 pages per hour. These high-speed laser printers are used for mass mailings of personalized documents.

The color element of a color Laser Printer is extremely important. The quality of the prints depends on the quality of your device. They are of a very high standard, although some models may lose a little clarity when it comes to very fine details. However, when compared with a mono laser printer it has distinctive advantages.
