Though the HP Color LaserJet CP4005n lacks an automatic duplexor like its sister model, the HP Color LaserJet CP4005dn, it does come equipped with a network card allowing this impressively fast color laser printer to interface with an entire networked office and full advantage to be taken of its high monthly duty cycle, and notable print specifications.

With print speeds of up to 30 pages per minute for letter sized paper, the HP Color LaserJet CP4005n is intended to minimize wait time when dealing with heavy work loads. A 500 sheet standard letter or legal sized tray is also implemented into the hardware, bringing the unit's stock paper storage total up to 600 sheets, however, an additional 500 sheet tray is available as an add on, making the HP Color LaserJet CP4005n's paper potential 1,100 sheets, while the unit's paper handling abilities are complemented with an incredibly large 500 sheet face down output tray.

At over a hundred pounds, with dimensions of 20.5 x 23.5 x 24.7 in (W x D x H), the unit is not exactly petite, and would be quite cumbersome for use in a home office, especially with the paper tray open which, when extended, brings the units footprint up to 20.5 x 37.4 x 22.9 inches, taking up over three feet of depth. At this size, you would expect the device to offer robust overall duty statistics, and it delivers.

The HP Color LaserJet CP4005n is rated at up to 80,000 pages maximum monthly duty, with a recommended usage between 2,000 and 7,500 pages for optimal performance. For a color laser printer, these numbers are very high, and represent a device that can withstand constant work demands.
