RAM of the printer: This is one thing that helps in increasing the speed of the printer.

Flexibility of up gradation: You should check what the various up gradation options available in the printer are. Your requirements could later increase with time.

Options for handling papers: A printer should have options for handling paper of various sizes such as legal size, A4 size, envelope size etc.

And a final word of caution – do not be in a hurry to buy one. Make a list of all the brands and technologies you have researched and match the results promised with your requirements and budget.
